I’m Charl Mostert, sound artist and foley wrangler. I bring stories to life through crafted sound, from subtle atmospheres to gut-punch crunches and the small details that make scenes feel real. Whether I’m in the wild with a mic or smashing vegetables in studio, I’m chasing the perfect sonic moment.
If you’re starting a project and need sound that truly lands, get in touch and let’s make it happen.
Working on Barakat was a delicate process. The foley needed to feel intimate, honest and emotionally grounded within this family-driven drama. My approach was to keep textures natural and authentic, allowing them to sit seamlessly alongside the production sound.
Subtlety was key. The aim was never to draw attention to the craft, but to support it—keeping dialogue and performance at the forefront while the sound design quietly carried the emotional weight of the story and its characters.
